Fort Lewis athletics launches online store

The Fort Lewis College Department of Athletics has launched, an online store that gives people a chance to purchase souvenirs and apparel online.

FLC has entered a three-year agreement with TeamFanShop, a leader in sports e-commerce. Fort Lewis Athletics will receive a portion of the proceeds from the sale of merchandise.

The initial launch offers 124 different items, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts, dresses, tank tops and nonclothing items. Some sport-specific items are available. Many items feature the new Skyhawk logo. A few old logo items also are available.

Federal funding available to businesses

Colorado will receive $329,517 in federal funding to help the state’s small businesses export their goods and services as part of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s State Trade and Export Promotion Grant Program.

The Colorado program, administered by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, supports small businesses with export development efforts and helps companies compete in a global marketplace.

The State Trade and Export Promotion initiative is aimed at increasing the number of small businesses that want to export and increasing the value of exports for those small businesses that currently export.

Small-business loans focus of panel talk

FredrickZink & Associates, CPAs has assembled a panel of loan officers from several banks in Durango to answer questions about the current small business credit market from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 12 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

The program is open to all people who have questions about small-business lending. Admission is $15.

Woody Tasch to speak at library Oct. 10

Woody Tasch, founder and chairman of Slow Money will speak on “Inquiries into the nature of Slow Money: investing as if food, farms and fertility mattered” at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.

Parade of Homes offers views of Durango styles

The Home Builders Association of Southwest Colorado will host the ninth annual Durango Area Parade of homes Oct. 5-7.

The 2012 event will be a scattered-site parade with 15 sites to visit over the three days. It will include two retail sponsor sites showcasing a variety of architectural styles, designs, decor ideas and concepts of neighborhoods.

Friday evening, the parade features “Homes Under the Stars,” allowing viewing of the sites with evening lighting and light refreshments.

Other activities include a barbecue on Friday and Saturday evenings at Southwest Appliance, breakfast from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday mornings at a home in Tacoma Village and Sundaes on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Edgemont Ranch.
