Durango resident Lori Lamb died of a blood clot in her lung Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at her home. She was 41.
Ms. Lamb was born to Arvell and Chloe Lamb on June 5, 1971, in Cortez, along with her twin sister, Dori.
After graduating from Cortez High School, she enlisted in the Air Force. Ms. Lamb was trained as a dental assistant and served in the Gulf War in 1991.
In June 1998, she married Tom Fuhrmark in Durango. The marriage later ended in divorce.
After her military service, Ms. Lamb worked as an assistant in Durango for several dentists, including Dr. James Eich.
She volunteered occasionally for the Disabled Veterans of America. An avid reader, Ms. Lamb also enjoyed working in her yard.
Ms. Lamb is survived by her children Jack Fuhrmark and Virginia Fuhrmark, both of Presque Isle, Maine; parents, Arvell and Chloe Lamb, of Pleasant View; sister, Dori Lamb, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; brothers Paul Lamb of Pleasant View and Mark Lamb of Prattville, Ala.; and four nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church, 2917 Aspen Drive in Durango. A social for family and friends will take place afterward at the church.
