Emily Mikel, 9, of Aztec, gets a hug from her mother, Holly Mikel, after choosing a pumpkin at Sutherland Farms, which has kicked off its annual pumpkin festival. It will be held each weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Halloween nine miles north of Aztec on San Juan County Road 2900. The festival features hayrides, a corn maze, pumpkin shooter, barrel train and, of course, pumpkins galore.
