Today is final day to register to vote

Today is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election.

Only registered voters will have a chance to weigh in on the presidential race, the congressional campaign, whether Colorado should legalize marijuana and a number of local contests.

Voters who have a Colorado driver’s license or state identification card can register online at the secretary of state’s website

The website lets people confirm their registration status or update it if they have moved.

Voters can also register at their county clerk’s office or at state driver’s license offices.

Both presidential campaigns and many other political groups have been making a hard push to register as many voters as they can before today’s deadline. The Obama campaign turned to musicians Jon Bon Jovi and and “Harold and Kumar” actor Kal Penn to visit Colorado and prod young voters to register last week.
