IHS fumbles at Del Norte

The Ignacio High School football team set the tone on the opening kickoff.

The Bobcats fumbled the ball to the Del Norte Tigers on their game-opening return, then turned the ball over six times en route to a 50-16 loss Saturday afternoon in Monte Vista.

Although Ignacio’s Adison Jones intercepted the Tigers on the very next play, it took the Bobcats until the final minutes of the half to put their first points on the board.

Ignacio’s Adam Herrera returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for the final 50-16 margin.
