St. Columba to host investiture for priest

Bishop Fernando Isern of the Pueblo Diocese will perform the investiture of the Rev. James Koenigsfeld of St. Columba Catholic Church with the title of monsignor, chaplain of his Holiness, at 6 p.m. Monday at the church, 1830 East Second Ave.

A reception will take place afterward in the St. Columba School Gymnasium.

Sacred Heart to host Halloween Carnival

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 254 East Fifth Ave., will host its annual Halloween Carnival today in the Parish Hall.

A Navajo taco dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost for the dinner will be $7 for adults and $5 for children. Games and a cake walk will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., and bingo with prizes will start at 7 p.m.

A costume contest for ages newborn to 11 years will start at 7:30 p.m., and a quilt raffle drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m. A country store also will be available.

First Baptist Halloween celebration to be held

First Baptist Church, 332 E. 11th St., two blocks from Main Avenue, will host a Halloween Carnival from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The carnival will feature popcorn, hot cocoa, treats and cotton candy. There will be more than 30 games, crafts and a box maze.
