Want to play hockey? Try it for free Saturday

The Durango Area Youth Hockey Association is inviting boys and girls ages 4 to 9 for its Try Hockey for Free clinic Saturday at Chapman Hill.

DAYHAís clinic is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is meant to provide children the experience of playing ice hockey for the first time. The clinic will focus on the basics.

Helmets, pucks, skates and sticks will be provided, but children are encouraged to bring their winter gloves to keep their hands warm on the ice.

Four Corners Cyclocross starts rolling Sunday

The 2012 Stanís NoTubes Four Corners Cyclocross Series will start Sunday at Ray Dennison Memorial Field, the Fort Lewis College football stadium.

All race times are 10 a.m. for the menís B field and open women and 11 a.m. for the menís A and menís 35-plus.

The other dates are:

Joe Rowell Park, Dolores, Nov. 10.

Parque de Vido, Cortez, Nov. 17-18

FLC stadium, Dec. 1

Tiger Sports Complex, Aztec, N.M., Dec. 8-9

The series finals are Dec. 16 at the FLC stadium.
