Police should aim higher than city zombies

Reading the story about the Durango Police Department trying to prevent the annual zombie march seems absolutely ridiculous to me (Herald, Oct. 31). I understand that last year there were a few issues with some of the marchers, but wouldn’t it be fair to say a lot of this was instigated by the police making it their job to fight against something that is all in good fun and peace?

There are much bigger hurdles on Halloween for the police to tackle, such as the huge amount of underage drinking and drunken driving. I’m glad to see, on Halloween, our tax dollars went to a bunch of cops who find nothing better to do with their time than make a huge issue out of something completely innocent and fun.
