Ignacio residents join Angus association
John and Dorothy Alvarez of Ignacio are new members of the American Angus Association.
The association, with more than 25,000 active adult and junior members, is the largest beef-breed association in the world. Its computerized records include detailed information on more than 17 million registered Anguses.

Native plant society to host presentation
The San Juan/Four Corners Native Plant Society will host “Alpine Wildflower Pollination” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lyceum Room of the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.
FLC professor Deborah Kendall will talk about her research on alpine wildflower pollination, especially the role of moths in pollination. For 25 years, Kendall has been a professor of biology at FLC, where she teaches courses primarily in zoology and entomology. Her current research interests include insect community ecology and forensic entomology.
