Interfaith Thanksgiving service to be held

An interfaith Thanksgiving service will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 21 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 485 Florida Road, across from Chapman Hill.

Five clergy will preside over the service, representing Catholic, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian faiths.

A free-will offering will be taken on behalf of Manna Soup Kitchen. A pie buffet fellowship will follow the service.

Methodist church to host bazaar

First United Methodist Church of Durango will host its 39th annual Holiday Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at 2917 Aspen Drive.

There will be refreshments throughout the day, including coffee, pastries and slices of homemade pie for breakfast. The traditional sloppy joe luncheon begins at 11 a.m.

In addition to local vendors with a variety of holiday items, the church will have two craft rooms, a plant parlor, homemade baked goods tables and a “Trash & Treasures” room. All proceeds go to missions.

First Baptist Church to offer Bible lesson

First Baptist Church will offer a family Bible lesson from the gospel of Luke called “Jesus and the Hurting, Lonely, Dying, Ugly, Smelly Guy” at 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, 332 E. 11th St.

The event will feature a family Bible lesson, prayer, singing and light brunch. All ages are welcome.
