Bruce Blanchard opens counseling practice

Bruce Blanchard announces the reopening of his counseling practice in Durango.

Blanchard and his wife Nanette returned to Durango after several years in New Mexico, where he was clinical director and therapist at a 40-bed residential program for children and adolescents. He also has been an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Mexico, a supervisor at the University Counseling Center and a supervisor and therapist for gang intervention and mental-health programs in the Albuquerque area.

Blanchard works with children age 10 and older, adults, families and couples. He has been a licensed professional counselor in Colorado since 1992.

Evening appointments are available, and there is no charge for initial consolations.

Nails by Cindy announces its opening

Cindy Weyandt announces the opening of Nails by Cindy at Hair Space, 2855 Main Ave.

Originally from Texas, Weyandt is a nail technician and is new to Durango. She offers manicures, pedicures, and acrylic nails.

The business is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
