New Business Brief

Dog bakery opens in Seventh Street alley

The Durango Dog Bakery announces its grand opening from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the ally at 171 E. Seventh St.

The day of the opening, there will be free samples and coffee, and dog-friendly gifts. Regular hours of operation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. The bakery will offer Baked in Colorado treats, which have been established as a natural, hemp-based treat for more than two years in the wholesale pet industry. The bakery also will offer dog cakes, dog parties, photos of pets, climbing-rope leashes, and pet driverís licenses. Well-socialized canines are welcome.

The owners of the establishment are friends and business partners of the gallery at 530 Main Ave., and Kamruz Gallery in Telluride. Mary Kenez, Jo Ellen Bourg, Laura Valenzuela, Caitlin Caunaughtin and Bonnie Ward all have a part in the business. Clay Room owner Ward sees this as an addition to the programs offered at the paint-your-own-pottery shop, as the two businesses are connected.
