Bayfield library receives grant from El Pomar

The Lavenia McCoy Public Library in Bayfield has received a grant from Colorado’s El Pomar Foundation, supplementing the library’s building project with an improved children’s area.

The $26,000 grant will provide money for construction materials, furnishings and other items to complete the new children’s area, which will include a Storytime room. The 400-square-foot room will be used for Storytime, Jammin’ Juniors, Fun With Science and other library programs. The library’s 4,000 square-foot expansion project started in July and is expected to be complete by early 2013.
