ABATE to host Toy Run Sunday
ABATE of Colorado District 8 will host its 20th annual Toy Run on Sunday beginning at the Fun Center, 29603 U.S. Highway 160 East in Grandview.
The center will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and a gathering will take place at 10 a.m. for coffee and doughnuts.
The bikes will leave at 11 a.m. A chili lunch and giveaways will take place at noon at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4031, 1550 Main Ave. A $10 toy or $10 cash donation is requested. All the money raised and toys collected will be donated to La Plata County Project Merry Christmas. Music will be provided by Windwolf Productions.
Ignacio library announces events
The Ignacio Community Library, 470 Goddard Ave, in Ignacio, will host these programs:
The Community Cinema screenings of “Solar Mamas,” the story of the first Jordanian woman to become a solar-energy engineer, will take place at 10:30 a.m., 2 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 26.
A fall artist reception will take place at 6 p.m. Nov. 26. People can meet the artists in the fall exhibit and take a tour of their art work.

Model train to run at Durango Mall
The San Juan Large Scalers will have the 20-by-40-foot model train running from Nov. 26 to Dec. 24 at the Durango Mall, 800 Camino del Rio.

Dance party to support Jersey Shore relief
A “Joisey Girls 4 Jersey Shore Relief” dance party fundraiser will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 1 at Durango Elks Lodge. Attendees are asked to enter through the Ninth Avenue entrance.
There is a suggested donation of $10 per person at the door. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross designated for Jersey Shore Relief. Music will be provided by DJ Code-Star. Donated goods can be dropped off at DurangoSpace, 1221 Main Ave.

The Durango/La Plata Senior Center, 2424 Main Ave., will host these programs:
