The Demons stuck to their legs in the pool this weekend.
The Durango High School girls swimming team took fourth behind a pair of four-leg first-place finishes at the all-relay Southwestern League Relays on Friday and Saturday at the El Pomar Natatorium in Grand Junction.
Kaitlin Barela, Haley Cotgageorge, Bryn Joyner and Hannah Chapman combined their legs to win the 200 butterfly relay in 2 minutes, 5.46 seconds; Haley Warren, Allie Rodd, Cotgageorge and Anne Mummery won the 200 backstroke relay in 2:10.60.
Out of 12 teams, Durango finished fourth with 370 points behind meet-winner Montrose (522), Summit County (388) and Grand Junction (382).
The Demons also took second in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:59.59, the 500 freestyle crescendo relay in 5:18.55, the 200 breaststroke relay in 2:27.13, the 200 fly/freestyle relay in 2:04.15, and the 200 breaststroke relay in 2:26.10.
They took third in the 200 medley in 2:11.84, in the 400 medley relay in 4:44.32 and the 400 freestyle relay in 4:09.15.
Diver Katie Cunnion took third from the board with 156.20 points, and Bonne Matheson took fourth with the same score.
Durango will swim at Montrose next weekend.
