Arboles resident Virginia Lee Lamb died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Durango. She was 84.
Mrs. Lamb was born to Howard and Thelma Lambert on Nov. 11, 1928, in Detroit. She grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and graduated from Denby High School in 1945.
On Sept. 3, 1948, she married Jack I. Lamb in Detroit. They raised five children together in West Bloomfield, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Lamb moved to Arboles in 2000 to be closer to their daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Powell. Mrs. Lamb was very involved in many church groups and community volunteer organizations. She was an active member of the Tiffany, Allison, Rosa and Arboles Historical Society, and was a member of the Allison Community Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jack Lamb, in 2009.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Powell of Arboles, Matthew Lamb of Omaha, Neb., Andrew Lamb of Clinton Township, Mich., Adam Lamb of Bisbee, Ariz., and Daniel Lamb of Sahuarita, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the Allison Community Presbyterian Church, 2724 County Road 329. The Rev. Alan TeBrink will officiate.
