When Barack Obama took office four years ago, our national debt was $10.6 trillion and unemployment was 7.8 percent. When he took office this week, our national debt was $16.4 trillion and unemployment was 7.8 percent.
In four years, Obama managed to increase debt by $5.8 trillion with absolutely no reduction in unemployment!
When Obama’s second term is over, he’s on track to leave us with $22.2 trillion in national debt, and the new norm for unemployment will be 7.8 percent, unless we count those who simply gave up looking for jobs.
On the topic of national debt, President Thomas Jefferson said, “It is incumbent upon every generation to pay its own debts as it goes.” Obama obviously disagrees. His inaugural speech ignored our debt completely. He will be the first to stick unborn generations of Americans with the historic debt levels he orchestrated.
He will have succeeded where all our enemies failed: the virtual destruction of the American economy, the American way of life and America itself. Now you know what Obama really meant when he said he was going to “fundamentally” change America.
To his ardent supporters, I hope your descendents won’t mind paying their fair share. Obama’s legacy will truly be historic!
