Youth wrestlers welcome to join the club

The Durango Youth Wrestling Club is looking for new members, and kids born between 1999 and 2008 of all sizes are welcome to join.

Practice will begin Tuesday in the wrestling room at Durango High School, and wrestlers can register that night if they haven’t already. Practices will continue every Tuesday and Thursday starting Feb. 5, with children born between 2005 and 2008 starting at 6:30 p.m. and those born between 1999 and 2004 at 7:30 p.m.

Cost is $45 for the first child and $35 for each additional child, and each family also is responsible for a $35 volunteer fee, which will be refunded after eight hours of volunteer time is accrued.

There also is a $7 weigh-in fee for each Saturday tournament. Tournaments will begin March 1 and last until April 13.
