Philip Ouellette named to Dean’s List
Philip J. Ouellette of Durango has been named to the fall semester Dean’s List at Colorado School of Mines in Golden.
In addition, Ouellette recently was advised that he passed the state of Colorado’s Fundamentals of Engineering Examination.
Ouellette is completing his fourth year in chemical engineering and is scheduled to graduate from School of Mines this year. He has accepted a position with ConocoPhillips and will report for duty after graduation.
Ouellette is a 2009 graduate of Durango High School and is the son of Marta and Ken Ouellette of Durango.
DHS band members receive recognition
Durango High School band member JP Skeath was selected for the 2013 Western Slope Honor Jazz Band.
Band member Iliana Sawyer was selected as alternate viola for the 2013 Colorado All State Orchestra.
Band member Nolan Reed was selected as violin I in the top orchestra for the All State Orchestra. He will rehearse and perform with the top string students in the state from Feb. 14 to 16.
Benjamin Harclerode earns university honor
Benjamin Harclerode of Cortez was named to the fall semester President’s List at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.
Harclerode achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average to receive this honor.
LeTourneau is an interdenominational Christ-centered university.
