Negotiation skills, strategies class offered

A “Negotiation Skills & Strategies” class will be offered by the Home Builders Association of Southwest Colorado from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 20 in the Eolus Room of Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.

Featuring national speaker S. Robert August of North Star Synergies, Inc., this class teaches the art of positive outcomes through a structured approach to negotiation. The cost is $75 for association members, and $95 for nonmembers. The registration fee includes lunch.

Eggs & Issues to take place Feb. 20

Eggs & Issues will take place at 8 a.m. Feb. 20 at the DoubleTree Hotel, 501 Camino del Rio.

The cost is $15 for Durango Chamber of Commerce members and $20 for nonmembers. The breakfast will feature a “State of the Community” address by Joe Kerby, La Plata County manger; Doug Lyon, mayor of the city of Durango; Barbara Morris, Fort Lewis College provost; Tom Gessel, CEO of Mercy Regional Medical Center; and Daniel Snowberger, Durango School District 9-R superintendent.

Area medical center welcomes new hire

Sonas Integrative Medical Center is pleased to welcome Bronwyn Radcliffe as a board-certified family nurse practitioner.

Radcliffe has been practicing preventive and functional medicine, with an emphasis on health and wellness, since 2007.

Radcliffe earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1998. Furthering her education at the August Institution, she earned a master’s degree in nursing with a special concentration in family practice in 2001.

In 2008, Radcliffe completed a fellowship in anti-aging, regenerative and functional medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine in conjunction with the Institute of Functional Medicine.

Her specialties include family medicine and prevention, thyroid, women’s health and bio-identical hormone replacement, chronic illness including adrenal dysfunction, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, digestive disorders and mental health.

Rivergate adds new physical therapist

Rivergate Physical Therapy announces the addition of Jessica McGinley.

McGinley recently moved from Tulsa, Okla., with her husband. She graduated with her master’s in physical therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. in 2010.

For the last few years, McGinley has primarily worked in an outpatient orthopedic and acute-care setting with occasional home health experience.

Lunch & Learn to take place Feb. 27

The Durango Chamber of Commerce will host a Lunch & Learn, “Utilizing Your ‘Smart Phone’ in Today’s Business Environment” at noon Feb. 27 at First National Bank of Durango, 259 W. Ninth St.

The cost is $10 for chamber members and $20 for nonmembers. This presentation will assist attendees in becoming more productive and profitable through focus with using their smartphone.

Attendees will have a discussion about what their priorities are within their business when they have to step away.
