Congregation Har Shalom announces programs

Congregation Har Shalom, 2537 County Road 203, will host these programs:

First Friday’s March Purim Weekend with Rabbi Eliot Baskin will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. The gathering and blessings will take place at 5:30 p.m.; a catered dinner will follow at 6 p.m.; A Kol Ha Busha “Voice of Embarrassment” service begins at 6:45 p.m.; and the screening of the movie “One Night with the King” and discussion is at 7:15 p.m. Voluntary contributions are welcome for the dinner.

A Shabbat morning service with Rabbi Baskin will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 2 in the synagogue. This is an alternative “Shabbat Shal OM Yoga and Meditation” with Rabbi Baskin. Participants should wear flexible clothing and bring mats. A bagel-and-juice breakfast will be provided.

A Purim carnival will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. March 2. Participants should wear costumes and bring gregars (noisemakers). The carnival will take place at 4 p.m.; a catered dinner with Hamentashen will follow at 5 p.m.; Purim Shpielen is at 6 p.m.; and a community Megillah reading is at 7 p.m.

Gathering and blessings with Rabbi Baskin will take place from 10 a.m. to noon March 3. The event will feature a Chai Mitzvah program and a bagel-and-juice breakfast.
