Mancos’ 1st DocFest plans weekend of films

“Unbranded” is one of the films that will be shown this weekend during the inaugural Mancos DocFest in Mancos.

The inaugural Mancos DocFest will kick off tonight (Friday) at the Mancos Opera House, 136 West Grand Ave. in Mancos, with the theme of “belonging” – to a place, to each other and to ourselves.

There are four 2-hour documentary film programs that include a feature length and one or more shorts.

Pre-sales tickets are $10 for the 2-hour program pass and $35 for the festival pass. Tickets will also be available at the door: $12 for the 2-hour program pass and $40 for the four-punch pass.

The schedule is:

Friday

7-9 p.m.: “Ace and the Desert Dog,” (9 min.), and “Unbranded” (105 min.).

Saturday

7-9 p.m.: “Ace and the Desert Dog,” (9 min.), and “Unbranded” (105 min.).1-3 p.m.: “Mancos Homegrown” (15 min.); “A New View of the Moon” (4 min.) and “Tashi and the Monk” (40 min.).4-6 p.m.: “The Love Competition” (15 min.) and “Becoming Bulletproof” (82 min.).7-9 p.m.: “Period.
