Durango Drums joins Stillwater Foundation

Durango Drums will celebrate its second anniversary and the affiliation with the Stillwater Foundation with a drums party at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Yoga Durango, 1140 Main Ave.

Students of all levels will play the rhythms they have learned over the last year, followed by an open drum circle.

Artists on display at Cortez show

A new display at the Cortez Public Library includes several regional artists.

Judy Wolfe has model cars in the cases, and Mary Gay Bahlinger is showing her “Art in the Heart” graphic drawings on the wall (Bahlinger invites people to decorate one of the hearts to be displayed).

These displays will be up through April. The Southwest Artist’s League’s artist of the month for March is Jay Whitewolf.

Bartenders’ tips to go to Animas Museum

The Red Snapper, 144 East Ninth St., will host a benefit evening for Animas Museum from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The museum is operated by La Plata County Historical Society.

Guest bartenders Mike Smedley and museum director Carolyn Bowra will create special themed drinks to serve, and their tips will be donated to the museum.

The event is open to the public.
