The Wolverines were forced to see the error of their ways.
Costly errors at bad times cost the Bayfield High School baseball team a loss to Farmington, 4-3 at the Piedra Vista Tournament on Thursday in Farmington.
Clay Miller threw five innings of three hit baseball, giving up one unearned run for the Wolverines.
Matthew Knickerbocker threw in relief for two innings and gave up one hit for three runs, none of them earned.
They combined for 16 strikeouts.
“We gave them everything they wanted,” BHS head coach Tom Horton said. “We just made a couple of key errors at exactly the wrong time.”
Austin McMenimen went 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in.
“Offensively, we just didn’t do much,” Horton said.
Bayfield (3-2) plays at 11:30 a.m. today at Ricketts Park in Farmington, the opponent to be determined.
