BHS baseball beats Piedra Vista JV

The Piedra Vista junior varsity’s second matchup with the Bayfield High School baseball team went better than the first.Instead of 10-0, BHS (6-2)won 7-2 on Friday in Farmington.“Basically it was a real good game,” BHS head coach Tom Horton told The Durango Herald on Saturday. “Real solid outing for pitching. Hitting was good.”Clay Miller went six innings on the mound, giving up two hits and two runs, neither of them earned. He had 10 strikeouts and a walk.

Matthew Knickerbocker threw one inning in relief and went 2-for-4 at the plate, while Miller went 2-for-4 with a home run and a triple, Drake Rhodes was 2-for-3, and Tyler Kerr was 2-for-2 with a triple and a double.
