Pilot is dead in Colo. crash

CENTENNIAL ľ The Douglas County Sheriffĺs Office reports a man who flew from New Mexico to Colorado to visit his girlfriend died when his single-engine plane crashed in a cow pasture south of Denver.

Douglas County Sheriffĺs Office spokeswoman Deborah Sherman says a rancher Sunday found the wreckage of the 1973 fixed-wing Cherokee Piper in a pasture near Castlewood Canyon State Park in Franktown.
