Student’s piece on GMO foods impressive

I am impressed with the maturity shown by Durango High School student Aama Harwood in her sophisticated essay about genetically modified foods (Opinion, Herald, May 19). She has obviously spent quality research time digging into a controversial topic.

Thanks to Aama, for presenting us a condensed argument for why the public definitely deserves the labeling of genetically modified foods, and why we all should be as outraged about the ubiquitousness of Monsanto’s pesticide-loaded crops as she is.
