Noma Bell White

Noma Bell White, the mother of Donna VanDenBerg of Bayfield, died July 1, 2013, in Monahans, Texas. She was 90.

She was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Goodlett, Texas, to Curtis and Anna Elizabeth (Weddington) Haga.

She was a hard worker whose ambition paid off being the only graduate from Tyban High School in the class of 1940. She received a handwritten diploma.

She was the oldest of five children and helped raise her brothers and sister while her mother was working. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning and during her younger days, she took on ironing to help support and raise her children. She enjoyed country music, dancing and painting by numbers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Buck” Robert White, and a son, Bobby Harold Hardman.

She is survived by a son, Gary Wayne Hardman of Wink, Texas; daughters, Donna VanDenBerg of Bayfield, and Jacquelyn Norton of Kermit, Texas, and a sister, Elvina Hickman of Arkansas.

Graveside Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, Texas.
