Herald should find more important topics

Is a front-page story (Herald, Aug. 14) on public urination the best the Herald can do? Or is it simply the best it has to do?

What’s going on in the schools? Are they prepared for the coming school year? How did the summer tourist season compare to last? How about the massive increase in housing orders seen by a few local developers? Maybe a success story coming from our jails and juvenile treatment facility? How about Native Americans who don’t qualify for membership in tribes or something about sexual violence against Native American women? Why not report the salaries of every public employee and how each is justified?

Public urination on the front page show a lack of awareness or concern about any number more substantial stories that would be far more palatable over ones morning coffee.
