Encouraging literacy in an affordable way

I noticed with some interest the coverage of the Little Free Library system in Durango (Herald, Oct. 28.) Our Little Free Library has been registered with the official group, documented and up and running since August at 1450 East Second Ave.

We have enjoyed participation because we have fairly heavy foot traffic there. We have people who are exchanging books according to plan, and it has been just wonderful to encourage literacy in a way that everyone can afford – we have included seasonal books written for and with children in a classroom setting as well for those people who might enjoy those child inspired books. Books written for and by children were made available through RealeBooks.

Thanks to everyone who has and will continue to support our Little Free Library at 1450 East Second Ave.
