Magazine names Durango Diner one of the best breakfasts

Local residents aren’t the only ones who have filled their stomachs with biscuits and gravy topped with Colorado’s famous green chile at the Durango Diner.

In a recent article in the Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine, the Diner was named among the list of 51 best morning meals in America.

The diner was chosen as the breakfast representative for the state and was described as a “majestic Colorado wake-up call.”

Many in Durango have had breakfast at the diner at 957 Main Ave., often after a long night of in-town debauchery.

Huevos Rancheros received an honorable mention of being the “flavor” of Southwestern cuisine ranging from Arizona to California. Restaurant owner Gary Broad can be seen in the issue gleefully posing and holding containers of green chile and biscuit gravy.
