We were saddened to hear the Durango School District 9-R half-day preschool program will not continue next year. Our daughter, who is enrolled at Needham Elementary School, has truly enjoyed her first taste of school. Everyday, she grows as a person as well as a student. It makes us sad to think our younger daughter won’t get the same great experience as her sibling. We wish the budget had more room for these types of beneficial programs, and we’re upset our schools are struggling with these types of budgetary issues. This is a very real loss for our family, but also for the whole community.
