DHS girls soccer goes 3-and-out

A trio of goals from the No. 3 ends the Demons’ 3-game win streak

Allowing three first-half goals ended the Durango High School girls soccer team’s longest winning streak of the season.

DHS (5-4-2) fell 3-0 to CHSAANow.com Class 5A No. 3 Pine Creek on Saturday in Colorado Springs.

Madeline Alhamra, Reece Hummel and Ryanne Parker all scored for the Eagles to extend their winning streak to four games.

The Demons lost for the first time in three games and allowed a goal for the first time since April 12.

Neither team scored in the second half.

The Demons won their first game in Colorado Springs 1-0 against Coronado on Friday.

DHS will return home for its last two games of the regular season, hosting Fruita Monument at 5 p.m. Thursday and Grand Junction at 5 p.m. Friday at Riverview Sports Complex.
