Hollywood losses inspire poetry

I wrote this thinking of the two recent losses in Hollywood:

Fame

Large before us loom the entertainers

Evoking raw emotion in each scene

We share their lives, although they never know us

They bare their souls upon the silver screen

Of their eccentricities, we should forgive them

How many of us would stand the test of fame?

Easy to point out every flaw and blemish

Indignantly effusing fault and blame

When the fading spotlight goes to black

We mourn as if we’ve lost one of our own

Their images eternally remembered

Forever will their lines be etched in stone.
