City dithering has cost marijuana revenue

Our City Council has over-thought marijuana regulations to the point that we probably lost more revenue than that of the half-percent tax-extension request for Parks and Recreation projects. I’m retired and fill in two nights a week at a liquor store. I’ve sent at least two or three groups of tourists every week to Telluride for what we don’t sell. That means we’ve lost lodging, liquor and meal taxes, as well as any marijuana taxes we might have collected. Did we elect a City Council that represents us? No, but at least they are finally giving us what we approved. Let’s extend the half-cent sales tax for Parks and Recreation project to marijuana only. Sin taxes don’t hurt as much.
