Bayfield High School seniors Kirstie Hillyer, Martina Moreno, Caitlin Phelps, Susie Rhodes and Jessie Roukema finished their prep careers a perfect 32-0 in the Intermountain League.
BHS swept Alamosa 3-0 on Tuesday night in Alamosa – 25-12, 25-20, 25-15.
“The entire BHS offense was productive and busy,” BHS volleyball head coach Terene Foutz said in an email to The Durango Herald.
BHS combined for 45 kills and a .410 kill efficiency, and Rhodes had 35 assists.
“Jessie Roukema had a breakout match, performing very strong at right-side attack,” Foutz said.
“(Tuesday night) was a personal win for our seniors,” said Foutz, who has coached this group for the last two years. Kelley Rifilato, the current Fort Lewis College volleyball coach, coached the Wolverines’ seniors their freshmen and sophomore seasons.
BHS (17-2, 8-0 IML) will finish its regular season this weekend at the Palmer Ridge Tournament in Monument.
