Power restored from pole accident

A utility was struck by a vehicle, knocking out power Wednesday to 666 customers south of Durango.

A vehicle collided with a utility pole about 10 a.m. this morning at 560 County Road 218, south of Farmington Hill, knocking out power to 666 La Plata Electric Association customers in the Sunnyside area.

The pole was downed completely, so it took time for LPEA crews to affect temporary repairs. Power was restored at 12:03 p.m. to all except one customer – the customer directly fed by the downed pole. Crews were changing out the damaged utility pole.

LPEA was unaware if the accident resulted in any injuries to the driver of the vehicle.
