Farmington Hill reopens after accident

Traffic was backed up coming north into Durango near Home Depot after lanes were reopened this morning.

An two-car crash snarled the morning commute Wednesday near Farmington Hill.

The accident involving an SUV and a sedan sent at least two people to Mercy Regional Medical Center, La Plata County Sheriff’s spokesman Dan Bender said.

The accident was reported at 6:46 a.m. near the bottom of Farmington Hill on U.S. Highway 160. Normal traffic resumed shortly after 8 a.m.

Eastbound traffic on Highway 160 was diverted up Farmington Hill to County Road 220 where it could turn east, Bender said.

Westbound traffic on Highway 160 was maintained, but only one lane was available, Bender said.

The Durango Fire Protection District, Colorado State Patrol and Sheriff’s Office responded.
