Obituary change is a community loss

In learning about life histories of recently deceased residents, I’ve found that reading the Herald’s obituaries provided me a better sense of our community. So I’ve been wondering why recently we see far fewer and shorter obits published in a different type font from other news. Now I see why: a new $170 minimum fee. Really, Herald? This is a loss to our community, and I hope you will reconsider this step backward for our community.
