From a doodle to QVC

The Durango-produced Zymbol and the company’s chief executive officer, Dane Short, will be featured on QVC early Thursday morning. “They only gave us five days notice, so we’ve really been jumping through hoops to make the arrangements,” Zymbol designer Sally Short said.

The journey has been quick and quirky, and now it’s headed to QVC, the online and cable shopping network.

Zymbol was designed by Sally Short by stacking the letters from “Love Is All U Need” and adding a peace sign. It went from a doodle to a pendant before her children discovered that a discerning eye can find all the letters of the alphabet in the design, so it can stand for anything the wearer desires.

And now, at some point between 4 and 6 a.m. Thursday, chief executive officer Dane Short will get to tell the Zymbol story on “Mornings Made Easy” on QVC.

“They only gave us five days notice, so we’ve really been jumping through hoops to make the arrangements,” Sally Short said.

QVC airs on Channel 14 on Charter Cable. Zymbol also is available online at www.qvc.com.

The Shorts donate one Zymbol for each one sold. Tuesday, Sally Short mailed 500 to Children’s Hospital in Denver.
