Driver injured in crash at Farmington Hill

Debris from vehicle hit other cars
New Mexico resident Gregory Milbank, 27, was injured when his car hit the inside barrier on U.S. Highway 160 near the bottom of Farmington Hill.

Monday morning began with a serious crash at the bottom of Farmington Hill.

Capt. Adrian Driscoll with the Colorado State Patrol said dispatchers received several calls of reckless driving by a vehicle headed westbound toward Durango on U.S. Highway 160.

“One of my troopers saw him run the red light at Three Springs going about 80 mph,” he said. “The trooper turned on his lights just to get through the intersection, but then turned them off, so there was no pursuit.”

The driver, Gregory Milbank, 27, from Los Ranchos, New Mexico, crashed at the bottom of Farmington Hill after losing control and hitting the inside barrier on the highway. The accident happened about 10:45 a.m.

“We got lucky that no one else was injured,” Driscoll said. “It looked like he received some serious injuries, and a couple of other vehicles were hit by debris.”

Milbank was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center.
