Climate change on the local level to be discussed

Four area youngsters and their families join weekend instructors for a mountaintop lunch break after spending the morning studying pika habitats in the peaks near Silverton. Several studies are looking at pika populations in relation to climate change. A Green Business Roundtable lunch next month will discuss the local implications of climate change.

Local implications of climate change will be presented at the March 11 Green Business Roundtable lunch.

Marcie Demmy Bidwell, director of the Mountain Studies Institute, and Renee Rondeau from the Colorado Natural Heritage Program, will speak.

The lunch and presentations will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the Henry Strater Theater, 699 Main Ave. Information and reservations are available at the San Juan Citizens Alliance at www.sanjuancitizens.org.
