Durango High School was evacuated briefly Thursday for a possible gas leak, said Julie Popp, spokesman with Durango School District 9-R
The leak was reported about 2:35 p.m. and the evacuation was lifted at 3:05 p.m. The leak was reportedly on the second floor of the school above the kitchen.
Firefighters arrived at 2:43 p.m., conducted tests and determined there was no gas leak, said Scott Davis with the Durango Fire Protection District.
Classes resumed and school was released as planned at 3:20 p.m., meaning students could be picked up or board buses as normal.
