Purgatory story read like advertisement

I was initially excited by the promise of the story,“Purgatory offers new deals – Resort adds ski privileges for 50th anniversary” (Herald, March 20). However, I may have confused this story with a paid advertisement since there are some worms in this golden apple, which I might have expected the Herald to reveal.

Most significantly for those of us in the service and medical industries who frequently work weekends, the 2015-16 Purgatory weekday pass will now exclude two full weeks early in the month of March, in addition to a week around Christmas; this despite an increase in price. A call to the resort’s spokesperson confirmed that this severe limitation was no misprint.

I would hate for unsuspecting, enthusiastic consumers to find out 11 months after buying a pass that they did not read the fine print closely enough, so perhaps you would consider passing on this information.
