A survey puts FLC fourth in value

By one measure Fort Lewis College gives the fourth-best value of any Colorado school of higher education.

A recent study by SmartAsset, a financial data and technology company, rated Fort Lewis College as the fourth most-for-your-money institution of higher education in Colorado.

Rankings were based on a dozen factors such as average scholarships, starting salaries, college tuition and students’ living costs.

Colorado School of Mines was the top-ranked college, with a 99.72 affordability index. The Boulder and Colorado Springs campuses for the University of Colorado had affordability indexes of 69.34 and 59.96, respectively. The Fort Lewis College index was 57.56.

Trailing were the University of Colorado, Denver (55.39); Metropolitan State University, Denver (52.89); Western State Colorado University (52,61); Regis University (51.04); University of Northern Colorado (50.81); and Colorado State University, Pueblo (50.67).
