After closing abruptly Monday because of financial problems, the Powerhouse Science Center’s board of directors has had a change of leadership: Bill Luthy has stepped down as president.
Luthy said Monday that he had been caught off-guard by the organization’s financial revelations.
Luthy will continue serving on the board, said Peggy Zemach, who joined the board of directors at the end of February. Kathleen O’Connor is serving as acting president until the next board meeting at the end of May. A new president will be elected at that time.
The Powerhouse board will hold a retreat Saturday with a few invited community leaders to strategize about the science center’s next stage, Zemach said.
