Tommy Boy

(Wednesday only) Tommy, the bungling son of a prominent factory owner, must somehow get his act together long enough to prove himself worthy of inheriting his late father’s business to keep his wicked stepmother from selling it. If she sells it, he will not only lose his fortune, the town, which depends on that factory for income, will be destroyed. To save the business, Tommy, and his late father’s sniffy business assistant, Richard, must hit the road and generate enough sales to keep the struggling company afloat. Rated PG-13.

Infinitely Polar Bear

Mark Ruffalo is Cameron, a man who suffers from bipolar disorder. After a breakdown forces him to leave his family and move into a halfway house, he attempts to rebuild a relationship with his two daughters and win back the trust of his wife Maggie (Zoe Saldana). When Maggie decides to go to business school in New York, they decide that he will move back in and take care of the day-to-day care for the kids. Because of his mercurial nature, this leads to a series of quirky, funny and sometimes frightening episodes. Rated R.

Testament of Youth

A powerful story of love, war and remembrance, based on the First World War memoir by Vera Brittain, which has become the classic testimony of that war from a woman’s point of view. A searing journey from youthful hopes and dreams to the edge of despair and back again, it’s a film about young love, the futility of war and how to make sense of the darkest times. Rated PG-13.

As Brian yearns for more than just two hours a day with the woman of his dreams, he learns hard won lessons about life and love. Co-starring Frank Langella, Glenn Close and Olivia Thirlby, this sexy romance captures the giddy thrill, the pain and the comedy of being young and falling in love. Rated R.

Southpaw

Billy “The Great” Hope (Gyllenhaal) is the reigning Junior Middleweight Champion whose unorthodox stance, the so-called “Southpaw,” consists of an ineloquent, though brutal, display of offensive fighting – one fueled by his own feelings of inadequacy and a desperate need for love, money and fame. With a beautiful family, home and financial security, Billy is on top both in and out of the ring until a tragic accident leaves his wife dead and sends him into a downward spiral. Rated R.

Mr. Holmes

A new twist on the world’s most famous detective. In 1947, an aging Sherlock Holmes returns from a journey to Japan, where, in search of a rare plant with powerful restorative qualities, he has witnessed the devastation of nuclear warfare. Now, in his remote seaside farmhouse, Holmes faces the end of his days tending to his bees, with only the company of his housekeeper and her young son, Roger. Grappling with the diminishing powers of his mind, Holmes comes to rely on the boy as he revisits the circumstances of the unsolved case that forced him into retirement. Rated PG.

Paper Towns

Adapted from the best-selling novel by author John Green (The Fault in Our Stars), “Paper Towns” is a coming-of-age story centering on Quentin and his enigmatic neighbor Margo, who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears – leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Rated PG-13.

Pixels

When intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend, ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens. Rated PG-13.

Ant-Man

(Available in 3-D with surcharge) Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Rated PG-13.

Trainwreck

Blockbuster filmmaker Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, This Is 40) will direct Universal Pictures’ Trainwreck, starring breakout comedic actress Amy Schumer (“Inside Amy Schumer”). The comedy, from a script written by Schumer and developed with Apatow, will be produced through his Apatow Productions alongside Barry Mendel (Bridesmaids, This Is 40). Rated R.

Minions

(Available in 3-D with surcharge) Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters – from T. rex to Napoleon – the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression. But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he – alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob – ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in modern London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind from annihilation. Rated PG.

Terminator Genisys

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future. Rated PG-13.

Inside Out

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. Rated PG.

Jurassic World

Steven Spielberg returns to produce the next installment of his Jurassic Park series. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a draft of the screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Rated PG-13.
