Immigrants less likely to commit crimes

I read Mike Sigman’s recent letter (Herald, July 14), as well as many of his other rants. When he can’t find climate data to back his head-in-the-sand beliefs, he claims the Democrats have altered the climate data for the entire planet. When he can’t find data to back his racist beliefs about illegal-immigrant crime, he claims the Democrats are now hiding crime data.

How does he know this? Because some Border Patrol guy told him. Pretty much the world standard for verification there! Just a simple Google search reveals plenty of studies countering the completely twisted statistics he’s quoted.

Fact is, illegal aliens are less likely to commit crimes than U.S. citizens if you don’t count the crime of being an illegal alien. Republicans know full well this is true but continue to spout the statistics Sigman quotes because fear-mongering is what Republicans do.

Most illegals are just doing the hard work Americans won’t do and are working harder for less. Are there bad ones? Of course, but the vast majority are just trying to make a living and better their lives.

Sigman blames Obama and liberals for virtually every malady our nation has. He’d make a great running mate for Donald Trump.

Besides, everyone knows Obama and the Democrats are far too busy planning the next round of chem-trail attacks on primarily Republican areas to sterilize the right wing element and make it easier for him to take over the country (except Texas, nobody wants Texas). Sigman’s house is right in the crosshairs. A former Air Force guy told me; it must be true. Enough said. I need to get back to expunging data from the Internet because that’s what Democrats do in our spare time.
