Normal operations restored at local DMV

The Durango driver’s license office temporarily stopped issuing documents Friday morning as a result of “intermittent computer issues,” according to the Colorado Department of Revenue.

The computer troubles affected Division of Motor Vehicle offices across the state, but most were up an and running by 10:50 a.m., according to a woman who works with the Division of Motor Vehicles in Denver. The Durango office was operational shortly thereafter, said Colin Waters, spokesman with the Department of Revenue.

Computer problems limited the agency’s ability to issue driver licenses and related documents.

“We have been working closely with the Governor’s Office of Information Technology as they investigate the root cause of the problem,” a statement said Friday morning.
