Get the facts on the Iran agreement

Over the next few weeks, we may read and hear much concerning the Iran nuclear agreement as members of Congress review it under the terms of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act. This agreement, named the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, was signed in Vienna on July 14 by representatives of Iran, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council (China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States of America) plus Germany.

For those readers interested in actually learning about this agreement and the issues surrounding it, I highly recommend reading Wikipedia’s page on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. In addition to providing links to the full text of the agreement, the article provides a summary of its provisions concerning Iran’s nuclear program and the sanctions imposed on Iran. It also has an extensive list of political and diplomatic reactions from signatory and other countries plus international organizations. Several experts have also weighed in with their thoughts.

This information should help sorting out fact from fantasy; hysteria from valid concerns.
